BMW as the official automotive partner of the Summer Olympic Games in London 2012 will have its own Olympic Park pavilion. Its architectural form proposed by the British series. The winning design, according to BMW excellently suited to the Olympic Park and in addition will minimally burden the environment.
BMW Pavilion large area extending 800 m will be on high ground above the River Waterworks, which flows between the Olympic Stadium and Aquatic Centre swimming. Water from the river will serve to cool the building. Recycled water is then returned to the river through a special waterfall that series architecture firm likens the curtain.
Two-storey building will be constructed of steel with a high proportion of recycled material, concrete and similar elements will be used contrary, only in minimal amounts.
Architects in designing buildings inspired pavilions in the parks, so-called Victorian stages there.BMW Pavilion will consist of nine stages of such grouped together.
The upper floor of the pavilion will be exposed to the latest BMW vehicles, in that the bottom will be ready for several interactive exhibits for visitors to the pavilion.
The Munich car maker expects that during the Olympic and Paralympic Games will visit the pavilion every day more than 8,000 people.
As an official partner of the 30th Summer Olympic Games in London 2012, BMW will provide 4,000 cars to BMW Olympians, sports officials, journalists and other persons.
